Unique Chinese BBQ restaurant located on 25th Avenue of San Mateo. Internal decoration looks like a traditional Chinese tea shop, which enhances the overall dining experience. There are a lot of unique skewers on the menu, which you can order using the QR code. Meat skewers were the star, but the veggie skewers were below average. First time I have ever had grilled stinky tofu, but it was very average. Very efficient service. Plenty of free street parking.

On a Tuesday night 7pm, there is still 15 minute wait. This place is popular. You order off a QR code and the system supports multi user ordering for the same table. The skewers are tasty. I wish the skewers are spicier so next time I will put in an extra request. You get a birthday gift bag if you show your ID on the day of your birthday!

Me and my girlfriend visited this restaurant last Thursday ,The food here is excellent—everything from the flavors to the presentation is spot on. The service is friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming. The only awkward part was waiting for a table, since there aren’t any designated waiting tables or a proper waiting area. It felt a bit uncomfortable just standing around until a spot opened up. Once seated, though, the experience was wonderful. Definitely worth visiting, but I hope they add a small waiting area to make the start of the visit smoother. I hope you people take it as positive feedback to improve your service.

If you’re craving authentic Chinese skewers in San Mateo this is a must-visit! The traditional decor is beautiful, service is friendly, and the food is flavorful and well-seasoned without being too spicy. We loved everything from Hawaiian Pineapple Chicken, Beef Tongue, Duck Tongue, Chicken Heart, Quail, Stinky Tofu, to Lamb and veggie skewers. The Cold Cucumber side was the perfect refreshing balance to the rich skewers, and the Ice Jello dessert was a light, sweet finish.

When you think about Chinese meat / lamb skewers in the Bay Area, you first think of the need to drive down to Cupertino. Living in the Peninsula, that may thus not be a viable option often. Well, fret no more. Dynasty in San Mateo delivers a quality skewer experience at a very reasonable price. In judging the skewers, it is always about the freshness of the ingredient, the spices you use, and the balance of price, atmosphere, and beer or other types of alcohol. Dynasty gets all of this quite right. The lamb and beef skewers are of quality and taste. The beef toungue and other exotic parts too hit above their weight. The Chinese donuts were a bit of a miss (as the bread was hard) but the Chinese white buns were so soft and sweet. Dynasty also boasted quite a bit of side dishes like noodles and soup. We tried the scallop vermicelli which was seriously of Michelin caliber. Overall, a fantastic experience worth of 5 stars. Now some constructive criticism. First, the main spice is used too frequently, on meat, bread, and everything in between. After a while, it may start tasting similar no matter what you order. Second, barely anyone speaks English, which may be okay because you're just ordering it at the table via their website. Service is super-fast though. Third, be prepared to wait. The line will build up quickly unless you go early. We will absolutely return to Dynasty. We're so glad we discovered this kingdom.

Dynasty BBQ is a fantastic spot for authentic and flavorful skewers! The lamb skewers are generously portioned and packed with rich, traditional seasoning, while the Yangliu skewers are perfectly grilled with just the right amount of spice. Dishes come out fast, making for a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. ⏳ The cold noodles, chilled appetizers, and Gongcai (tribute vegetables) are also delicious, adding refreshing balance to the meal. A must-visit for BBQ lovers looking for bold flavors and hearty portions! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Their dessert of 凉粉 is also splendid!
